Dockside Skylights Liverpool wants everyone to be able to use this website to find out about rooflights and skylights and to get in touch with us, whatever device or assistive technology they use. This statement explains the standard we aim for, the parts of the site we know fall short, and how to tell us about a problem.

The standard we aim for

We aim for the website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. In practice that means you should be able to:

  • use the whole site with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline showing where you are
  • use the site with a screen reader, with headings, landmarks and labelled links and controls
  • zoom text to twice its normal size and use the site on a narrow screen without content being cut off or needing sideways scrolling
  • read text that has enough colour contrast against its background
  • understand images through text alternatives, where the image carries information
  • use the site with animation reduced, if your device is set to reduce motion

How we check

We test pages against WCAG 2.2 AA using automated checks for contrast, headings, labels and alternative text, together with manual checks using the keyboard and at phone and desktop screen sizes. We review the site again after significant changes and look at this statement at least once a year.

Known gaps

We know some parts of the site may not yet be fully accessible:

  • The enquiry form. The form comes from a third party, Mortaro CRM, inside a frame. We cannot control every detail of its markup, and some screen reader or keyboard behaviour inside the frame may not fully meet WCAG 2.2 AA. If you have any difficulty with it, email us or call instead.
  • The service area map. The map on our contact page is visual and can be hard to use with a keyboard or screen reader. The page also says in words that our area runs to roughly 30 miles by road from the city, and every town is listed on our areas we cover page.
  • The WhatsApp panel hands over to WhatsApp, whose own app and website are outside our control.
  • Photographs. Some decorative photographs have empty text alternatives on purpose, so screen readers skip them. If you find an image that carries information without a description, please tell us.

We are working to reduce these gaps and will update this page as we do.

Tell us about a barrier

If you find something on the site you cannot use, or you need information in a different format, please tell us:

Tell us the page address and what the problem was, and the device, browser or assistive technology you were using if you know. We aim to reply promptly and to sort out problems in our own content as soon as we reasonably can. Where we cannot change something quickly, we will give you the information you need another way, such as by phone or email.

Contacting us in other ways

You never need to use the website to deal with us. Every enquiry, survey request, quote question and guarantee claim can be handled by phone, email or WhatsApp, and we can talk through a written quote with you by phone if reading it is difficult. If you have an access need for the survey or the work in your home, let us know and we will plan around it.

If you are not happy with our response

Please use our complaints procedure. You also have rights under the Equality Act 2010, and the Equality Advisory and Support Service can give free advice.

Free survey

Get a fixed quote for your rooflight

  • No obligation
  • We survey the roof before we price
  • WhatsApp or phone, whichever suits

What happens next: we arrange a survey at a time that suits you, measure the roof and the room, then send a fixed written quote. Nothing is booked until you say yes.
